Kategora Oceanika is the largest wooden hotel development in Southern Europe. An ambitious project where design, sustainability, and habitability, are seamlessly combined.
If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. From the beginning, this project has stood out for its innovative construction process, commitment to sustainability, and exceptional location in Torremolinos— factors that have consistently drawn media attention.
Kategora Oceanika has been conceived as the largest flex living building in southern Europe constructed entirely from wood—using exclusively PEFC-certified timber. In total, 3,500 cubic metres of wood have been used, enabling the building itself to retain approximately 3,500 tonnes of CO2.
Passive design strategies, cross ventilation, solarp rotection, and the intelligent use of native vegetation transform every architectural decision into a deliberate climate solution.
